Judge CV
My name is Darja Klevisar, a breeder of the Coton de Tulear with the prefix Cotonroyal and a FCI international judge from Slovenia. I am specialist for Bichon breeds and Poodles.
So far, my judging has been mainly in Slovenia and at specialty shows in European countries. I am honored with invitation as a judge at Specialty show at European Dog Show this year, 2024 in Slovenia. I am quite active in Slovenian cynology, as Board member and member of Breeding Commission of Slovenian Club for Toy Breeds and Poodles. I am also dedicated to education and happy to share my knowledge, two important projects I had were seminars about the Coton de Tulear breed for judges in South Africa and Australia. My guiding principle is, whatever you do, try to do your best, this is also shown by my flight journey from beginner to professional pilot license, but nothing compares to my life journey with dogs. Dogs have always been a part of our household, where we had Miniature Pinschers, Miniature Schnauzers and Highland Terriers. I work closely with Maltese and I was co-owner with my friend of the Kennel Valentina's Magic for many years.
The first coton came into my life in 2009, when we decided to have a family and therapy dog for my son, but we soon recognized also great show potential in him. As an art professor, I combined a sense of aesthetics with passion and dedication to the breed, which resulted in our success year after year. Out of the kennel came many champions, multiple Group and BIS Winners, multiple European and World Winners and Top Coton de Tulear Winners of the year in many countries.
