My name is John Ritchie and I stay in the South West part of Scotland in a small town called Hamilton my
Prefix Dykebar ( Border Collies , Australian Shepherds, Akitas ) Hollibell ( Hungarian Pulis ,Pomeranians)
I have been breeding under both prefixes for over 40 years – we have had some success in all the breeds we have had and have won over 200 CC’s with dogs bred/ owned by us.Dogs we have bred and not owned by us have also won numerous CC’s and became Champions not only in the UK but all over the World .
We have owned / bred Champions in Border Collies , Hungarian Pulis , Akitas and Rough Collies – we have made up numerous Champions and won Groups and BIS at all breed Championship shows throughout the UK since we started showing – we have won Res BIS at Crufts , BIS at Darlington Champ show , Res BIS at Blackpool Champ show , Res BIS at the National Working and Pastoral Breeds Championship show and numerous other Group wins . We have won BOB or the CC at Crufts in Border Collies, Hungarian Pulis on numerous occasions and CC and BOB with Akitas ( owned or bred by us ) all going on to be placed in their respective groups groups . We pride ourselves in the fact that many Border Collie kennels world wide have founded their lines on dogs bred by us .
We are still actively involved in Border Collies – owning the Top Winning male 2021 and Last Years top winning Border Puppy 2023.
We are currently showing a Pomeranian owned by us who has been consistently winning and Champ shows and has also gained her stud Book number and last year won her first CC .
We have been Top Breeders in both Border Collies and Hungarian Pulis on numerous occasions through out or 40 years involvement in dogs .
I first started judging Borders in 1984 gave out my first set of CCs in 1990 – I am now a Policy judge for the Pastoral Group and also Judge the Working Group as well .I am now passed to award CC’s in 27 breeds across three groups and have now been approved to judge BIS at an Allbreeds Championship show in 2024.
I have judged both Border collies and Hungarian Pulis at Crufts .
I have judged extensively all over the UK at Open shows – at Championship shows I have judged numerous variety stakes classes and group awards – this includes

I have also judged Border Collies extensively all over the World and also other Pastoral/Working Breeds – this includes – most countries in Europe and Scandinavia , the USA and Australia .
I have been actively pursuing my interest in other breeds also – I am passed to award CCs now via the grandfathering route in Tibetan Spaniels and Polish Lowland Sheepdog.
