Throughout my childhood I have always been surrounded by dogs, even though I have been born to a non-dog show family. Our first family dog was a Saint Bernard. Few years after her, we got our first show dog, a Cavalier king Charles spaniel named ‘Naj’. In 2010 I went to my first dog show and quickly fell in love with showing, grooming and training dogs. In 2011 I went to my first junior handling competition and won, which motivated me to compete more and more. Till my 18th birthday I won many competitions and BIS junior handler titles at home and all over Europe. In 2015 I became national junior handling winner and got to represent Slovenia at European and World dog shows. Through these years I have learnt a lot about dog anatomy, breeding, dog behavior and training from well-known professional handlers, breeders and judges. In 2016 I got my English springer spaniel Baal, who quickly became my most successful show dog.
For the past decade I have been working as an all-breed dog handler. I’ve been traveling all over Europe, Great Britain and been to USA multiple times with my team. We’ve brought home many BEST IN SHOW placements, BEST OF GROUPs, European/World winners and new Champions.
In-between show weekends I regularly organize handling seminars, individual and group training courses and love to pass my knowledge and love for this sport to junior handlers too. I always emphasize that beside good preparation and knowledge about showing dogs, the key to success is love and respect of our beloved show dogs, pets.
